Inertia is the inability of material body to change, by itself, its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line.
Mass is a measure of inertia
Newton's first law of motion: A body continues in its state of rest or of uniform motion along a straight line unless an external unbalanced force acts on it.
Newton's second law of motion: The rate of change of momentum of a body is directly proportional to the impressed force and acts in the direction in which the force acts.
